Clinical Pursuits

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Clinical Pursuits

There are different types of pursuits. A Pursuit takes place during Medical Record abstraction. An abstractor will create a new chase, called a Pursuit when something from the chart is missing such as a date of service or measure.

Retrieval – Pursuits are for a DOS, missing member information

Clinical – Pursuits are for DOS, signature attestation, DOB/gender if missing for medical record

Terminology

Pursuit – Noted missing information, launched to initiate the search

Parent Chase – Original chase that has inadequate information

Child Chase – Chase created from pursuit launch, associated with Parent chase

For Risk Adjustment – Reveleer does not collect attestations, VRC 51 (Provider Signature Deficiency) is appended to the Claims Risk Line(s) when provider signature requirements have not been met.

A pursuit can be launched at different stages in the Reveleer workflow. Each pursuit generates a new unique Reveleer Chase ID # that is associated with the original Chase ID. Pursuits require Customer approval via the Approval Center.

Pursuit vs. Parent Chase

A Pursuit chase is evident because there will be a (P) next to the chase. When you hover over the Pursuit chase, the Original “Parent” Chase will appear.

Click on the Parent Chase > Chase Info to view the exact documentation being requested.

Parent Chases will have displayed as 12345678 (n) where n represents the number of pursuits for that chase.
